Your Ship Wreckage (Poetry)

Here is a little something I wrote a while ago and thought I would share it here today.

Your Ship Wreckage

And so it is
another blackened day
another frost bitten
disaster
in between
the beauty
of darkness

a granny smith apple
the elegance
and the warmth
between
the coffee
and the pie

when you spill
yours as you
flap those jaws
amongst the wreckage
begging for
sympathy
receiving the same
boring look
you always do

you push
you pull
like a drain eel
like a dying seal
how many times
will you open
that door?

you create
you burn
etching
your own disaster
into being
because its
all you've ever known

perhaps one day
the capability of
coping with truth
will finally
consume you
beneath the wreckage
of your ship
